What DOES everybody have to talk about with their cell phones while walking down the street? Is it so important to keep in touch or because you have the bloody thing in your pocket?

Tonight I went to take the dogs out for their 6pm walk and my older dog started barking wildly at some dog across the street. A lady we were walking by turned to me and said "please quiet your dog, I'm on a phone call." I couldn't believe what I heard.

"Excuse me lady but this is a public street not a private phone booth." The dog is still barking his head off and I'm trying to calm him down. She gives me the finger. I call her a white trash cunt. She starts to turn back and walk towards me but the dog lunges in front of her. "I'm calling the Police" she said. I told her to go right ahead as I had two witnesses (the people with the dog across the street who are dog friends of mine, Don and Ella.) She saw that she had no case and walked down the hill quickly.

"What is with these people?" asked Don. "Four years ago you wouldn't see people on the street with a cell phone. Now everyone has them and don't know how to use them. Yesterday at lunch someone at the next table had theirs ringing all the time even though the manager kept asking them to turn it off."

This is happening everywhere and I for one am tired of it. People need to turn off their cell phones in a restaurant, private gathering, theater and so forth. No call is that important.

It usually gets me in more trouble than it's worth but I was just undone tonight. Being cooped up at home for 3 days will do it.

There is talk in the airline industry that they are going to allow somehow cell phones to operate IN THE AIR. So you are going to have 16 business people in First Class talking on their phone to their stupid co-workers ALL THE WAY TO Dallas! This is going to be so loud and so annoying, I am going to have to wear those Bose earphones. What a nightmare! I really hate talking on the phone in general so I'm the wrong guy to ask about this.

Well I know you hate the phone and I come from a family where we are on the phone all the time BUT there is a time and place for everything and public places do not qualify for cell phone talk. If that happens with the airines, I'm going to have to investigate working for a company that only flies NetJets!

You mean "The Worldwide Leader in Fractional Jet Ownership"? LOL. I never even heard of that, I did a quick web search to find out what you were talking about. :) That would be sweet! Ford does have a company jet with 40 First Class seats (the whole plane) but it only goes to like 15 places. That couldn't possibly work with my travel plans so I'm on NW all the time. I don't even like when people talk to their co-workers sitting next to them, I'm a total bitch up front as you might have gathered. *shines halo*

A private plane with 40 first class seats? Honey, I'd be on that puppy so damn quick......but when it only goes to a limited amount of cities, you're absolutely right, you're stuck on a commercial plane.

As for you being a TOTAL BITCH up front? (I'm assuming that's first class, correctamundo and not the first row of coach????) - call me bitchy, too. And there is NO halo on me!!! (Grin).

I LOVE NetJets. Now I have to make enough moolah or find a company that can afford them.

Amen, brother. It's gone from convenience to a "must have".
