Boring Meeting has a happy ending

I went to the IBR planning meeting tonight at the Bonestar. The meeting itself took a long time but since I skipped August and September, I needed to show up for this one to show face and to get a problem that I had with one of my assignments resolved. Still, it was interminable and I missed having glovercom there because there was nobody to share comic relief with. Even worst was one member who seems to have a tire iron up his butt and would not shut up. (Usually it goes out the other way - only glovercom will get this). I know I wasn't helping matters trying to get things speeded up and Jeff Stiarwalt had said I was being rather bitchy but hey, I don't enjoy long meetings and I think a lot of committee members feel that way.

The best part was after the meeting finally ended 2hours later at 9:45pm just in time to get another beer and go and see who was out back. I ran into doubleohsteven  and we were having a nice conversation when this kid, Andrew, who is visiting from the Orange Curtain (Orange County) came by. I had met him during the break. He was nice but rather clingy. Then pyrogeoff came over and joined the conversation. This Andrew guy was acting rather strange - sort of drunk but sort of on drugs - and it was pretty obvious that he wanted to go home with me. (Somebody turned to me - was it Geoff or Steve - who said 'he'd be a good fuck but that's about it'. Trust me, he looked cute but definately not worth soiling my 400 count percale!) Anyways, this Andrew guy wouldn't shut up and at one point Geoff and Steve are stepping back farther and farther. Since I was in a good mood, I was being polite (a run to Berkeley today took care of that problem) and finally the kid got the clue. I also got to meet bear_with_me who was very funny and entertaining. ("You're the one who wrote about the ladies of the night"!) I can't believe I hadn't seen Geoff since Lazy Bear. Time does fly!

I also ran into Steve Cameron who told me that he's in love with a man in Paris and is moving there in January so dhbearguy doesn't have to worry about getting paddled by him ever again. He showed me pictures of his new squeeze who's very cute and loves to sail.  Perhaps we'll see Steve spanking him on the Seine? 

I left around 10:30 tonight - I should have stayed longer but I've got a super busy day tomorrow and after getting over the shit part of the cold, I wanted to get a good night's sleep.
