How sad to read that Maureen Stapleton died. What a talented actress. And she sure did love to drink. I remember someone writing once "she never drank onstage but the minute that final curtain came down there was Eloise" (her dresser) "standing there with the Vodka......"

I was saddened to hear that. I think two of my favorite performances were one in an odd movie she did in 1981 with Lauren Bacall called The Fan. The other, an awful TV movie with Ed Asner called The Gathering. Then, of course, we have the classic Airport. I could go on all day. She was a fantastic gal and it's a big loss to the world that she's gone.
